Dear friend of FACES,

We want to report back to you on the success of the FACES 2025 Surgical Cleft Campaign, which took place from January 26th - 31st, 2025 in Lambayeque, Peru.

The Surgical Cleft Campaign is an annual collaboration between the volunteers of the FACES Surgical Team, (this year, there were 42 team members) and the staff at Belén Hospital in Lambayeque, Peru. The FACES Foundation provides the following specialists: facial plastic surgeons, pediatric anesthesiologists, operating room and recovery nurses and speech language pathologists. FACES also supplies the majority of the surgical supplies and medications. Belén Hospital provides pharmacy support, laboratory services, social services, and hospitalization to the patients who recover overnight.

Through exceptional teamwork, the campaign provided surgeries to 41patients at no cost to them or their families. All patients served by the campaign come from poverty-stricken regions of Peru. In addition to the surgical procedures, the FACES team provided the following:

  • 133 Surgical Evaluations
  • 72 Speech Therapy Evaluations
  • 39 Speech Therapy Sessions
  • 18 Lip Scar Revision Treatments

Throughout the week, FACES team members gave formal presentations to the Peruvian Medical Community. These presentations focused on caring for cleft patients, from the perspectives of a surgeon, and anesthesiologist, a nurse and a speech language pathologist.

The team is honored to have the trust of the patients, the Peruvian medical community, and the many supporters who donate time and resources to these campaigns.Thank you for your generosity with your donation. We wish you a very happy and successful year.
