Students receiving books after exams
Your generous support enables us to continue teaching our students in a creative and caring learning environment. We are super grateful to you for choosing to support this fantastic project which sees nearly 400 students in rural Nepal gain a quality education.
Kushadevi Model School has had a busy term filled with a range of exciting learning opportunities. Our students have been busy in class learning all about festivals of Nepal as their topic of the term. They have created some fantastic English fact sheets about the diverse range of festivals that take place in Nepal throughout the year, with beautiful art work, and learning about faith, tradition and celebrating diversity. Our teachers continue to deliver innovative and engaging lessons and this term the children were delighted to receive some books which were given at a reward ceremony congratulating them for their hard work and perseverance.
We have seen a significant increase of the number of parents actively involved in their children’s learning, and in the wider school community. This is a result of our outreach programme where teachers speak with family members to help them see the importance of an education as well as the numerous public events the school holds in the local community. These events are a fantastic way of getting the local community and parents involved in school life. Last month we also held a series of parents' meetings. We were pleased to have more than 70% of parents attend which is a huge increase from previous parents’ meetings where approximately 30% of parents attended. The teachers informed the parents about the students' learning programmes at school and showed where parents could offer support to their children's learning. The parents had the opportunity to discuss with the teachers the children’s progress and how they could best support their child’s learning.
Once again, we thank you for your ongoing support which is helping the school community to continue to grow and thrive.
