Help 370 Nepali Children Access Quality Education

Since January 2018 Kushadevi students have experienced an extra skip in a few teachers steps! All thanks to your support and generosity on our Global Giving campaign.

Saraswati, our UKG teacher said last week "To have had all that support has really boosted staff morale for all of us. It gives us hope and belief that things are changing and will continue to change here. We see smiling faces of children happy to come into school, and their parents who bring them here are more and more interested in the school and the education we are providing. This never happened before!”

Dixit, age 10, a student at Kushadevi believes that “all the different things I learn here make me want to learn more! I even ask my dad for extra time for my homework and he lets me do my homework instead of my housework.”

This vital educational programme is centred on working hard to ensure Kushadevi Model School is seen as the central heart beat of the community, and the value and potential of a quality education is recognised by children, parents, guardians, employers, teachers, local and regional authorities. The visible and online support you gave the campaign helped our team to use it as a catalyst reach out to more families.

Since January we have run activities including:

• A teacher training course on child-centred learning techniques;
• Bought new 50 new books for the library;
• Continued to employ 11 teachers and teaching assistants;
• Who have taught a total of 76 lessons, 5 days a week;
• Provided 370 children with safe drinking water every day;
• Improved 10 classes' Learning Environments with decorations of work and learning corners; 
• Facilitated 5 bikes clubs and run 3 bike mechanic and skills lessons
