Lily is an Asian American married to another Asian American man. They moved to China when her husband got a good job working for a high tech company for a two year contract. During the first year in China Lily slowy saw her husband change. At first he would criticize her makeup, the clothes she wore and her cooking. When Lily became pregnant things got better for a while. But in her 5th month of pregnancy, he became enraged and he pushed her down. He told her he was sorry, bought her flowers and things got better again. when she told her husband she wanted to go back home to the USA to have the baby he became enraged and pushed her again.
Lily was fearful another push may hurt her baby. She called us and we were able to conduct a safety plan and get Lily back home to the USA before the baby was born.
Lily gave birth to her baby in the USA. She is divorcing her husband and filing for custody.
Without that first phone call, Lily may not have had the help she needed to get home safely.
