Out of the 7th students coming from refugees families, 5 are in the 4th year of secondary school studies and 2 are in 3rd year.
The 4th year is an important year since there is a national exam called BEPC. Students need to pass this exam if they want to go on with more studies. We really think that the 5 refugees students will get this exam: 2 of them are first of their class and the 3 others have rather good grades.
One of the student in 3rd year has good grades, the other one need to concentrate more on his studies.
To be in a boarding school is not always easy. But students are in ideal conditions to succeed.
We have tried this school year to be more appreciative to help students to get motivated. Since teachers in Burkina are more using the stick (figure of speech) than the carrots they have a tough time to adapt to this new method.
Most likely the 5 students in 4th year will go on studying. We will need your support to make this a reality.
Thank you for your help.
