In September when we took 5 refugees children in our school we did not know how they will adapt and performed.
The adaptation went very well. Those children have a similar background than the other children at the LAP (poor farmers families). The only difference being the country of origine. From the 5 refugees, 4 are coming from Mali and one from the Republic Democratic of Congo.
One of the students was elected as delegate for the class!
Their grades at the end of this school year were very good. In the French system the gardes are over 20 points. All the students had above 12 /20 with 2 above 15/20.
Both UNHCR and us are very please with this first experience. We would like to recruit an additional 6 students for the coming school year.
We are not part of UNHCR and we need to find the funding to cover for the expenses of those children at the LAP.
