This project will provide 1,000 Qurans and 3,000 Yassarna books to 15 needy Islamic schools in Central and Eastern Uganda. By equipping over 6,000 vulnerable children with essential learning materials, we aim to strengthen Quran reading, memorization, and spiritual growth for communities that cannot afford these resources.
Many vulnerable Muslim children in Uganda, where Muslims make up 14% of the population (about 9.1 million people) lack access to the Holy Quran and Yassarna due to poverty. Under-resourced Islamic schools cannot afford knowledgeable teachers and these essential books, limiting children's Quran literacy, spiritual development, and ability to learn and practice their faith.
This project will distribute 1,000 Qurans and 3,000 Yassarna books to 15 under-resourced Islamic schools, giving over 6,000 vulnerable children direct access to essential learning materials. By providing the books they cannot afford, the project will strengthen Quran reading, memorization, and spiritual growth, ensuring children can learn and practice their faith confidently.
In the long term, the project will improve Quran literacy and Islamic knowledge among thousands of vulnerable children, strengthening their faith and confidence. With continued access to Qurans and Yassarna, schools will sustain better learning environments, helping future generations benefit and reducing inequality in access to Islamic education across poor communities.
