The academic year 2016-17 is almost over, and the academic year 17-18 will come soon. Thank you very much for your generous support which helps 1203 poor students in 2016-17 . We need your support and donation to help more than 1000 poor kids to continue their basic education during 2017-18.
During 2016-17, we support 1203 poor students in four counties 3 provinces in China. We will expand to 5th county Yiyan County in Jiang Xi province (4th province) this Fall with help of local volunteers and Professor Guanmin Shi at UW-Madison. We hope to help more poor students continue their basic education. It makes real difference to these poor kids. For example, one of the college students we supported who was an undergraduate at Anhui Medical University, just got an excellent job at one of the Zhe Jiang University's hospitals (one of the most prestigious universities in China) . Another student from a level 2 university got into graduate school in a top university, ..... Some students won the prestigious National Achievement Award. It is really amazing considering that they did not have a good background in elementary through high school (some of them were supported since elementaty school). They have worked extremely hard and really appreciated the opportunity they got to improve themselves.
As you can see, a little support makes a real difference. $80 helps a poor elementary school kid for a whole year, $100 for a middle school student, and $200 for a high school student. 100 percent of your donation goes to the needy students! I visit some of them every summer and will do so this year during the weekend of June 1 and June 8th. I will also meet with some of high school students who will go to college to give some advice on college life.
