Your support is an inspiration to the students

By Tonghai Yang | Your support is an inspirationn

Instead of numbers and generals, I would like instead share with you Maio's story.  The attached files include  her recent article about her experience with us and her visit to  twin boys during winter break in 2013.   Her writing is much better than mine---please read it. Here is a summary.

Her father was mentally ill and her older sister was in a three year college when she was in 10th grade. Her mom worked extremely hard to make the ends meet for the family. We supported her with donation from kind people like you. After her sister graduated college and found a job, her family situation started to get better, and she gave up our support after sophomore year. That did not end her interaction  with us. She volunteered and during winter break of 2013, she went to visit a poor twins near her home, and wrote a moving story (see attached).  After 4 year college study at Beijing University of Technology, she was admited to the prestigious USTC for her graduate school. She volunteered to help other college students by sharing her experience and listening to them, and ...

Last July, she found a job in Shanghai after graduation at USTC, and immediately donated part of her first salary to us (our partner Zhong Mei Ai Xin in China).  She is part of the Zhong Mei Ai Xin  and Hometown Education Foundation family.  The support and the experience with us have inspired her a lot and made her a better person, according herself.

Your support makes a difference to the poor students like her, and inspire them to work harder and do better, to feel more confident and less isolated, and to  become more caring themselves.

Please help us spread words to your friends and encourage  them to support us too.

P.S. She gave me permission to use her name and her article.
