Greeting from Empower foundation!
Thank you for supporting "light up lives" campaign to help 1000 women read and write.
Delighted to share that we have finally started our new batch in 2 villages i.e. Kalsara and Mander daih mafi. Kalsara village is located in Alwar district with a population of 4724, out of which 2452 are males and 2272 are females. Literacy rate for males stands at 81.21 % while the female literacy rate is 49.90 %. Our second location i.e. Mandar Daih Mafi village is in Allahabad district with a population of 3630 of which 2008 are males and 1622 are females. Here Male literacy stands at 75.42 % while the female literacy rate is 51.15 %.
'Teachers play a vital role in the quality of education provided for the development of his/her students'. Meet the torch holders of our Allahabad center, Jyoti Pal who hails from Allahabad and has already led the previous batches of 90+ women on the road to literacy. New to the team is Sunita Dhanwal who has 4+ years experience in the education sector. She is leading the way for our first batch of 30+ women in Alwar.
Classes had already begun in both these centers. The excitement and eagerness to learn can be seen on their faces (Pictures attached). In one of our interaction, few of the women who enrolled in our center shared that had mugged up how to write their names for loan application but can not recognize letters. This observation made us realize the importance and necessity of the "Light up lives" campaign. We are fully motivated to see this campaign in achieving its goals.
Hope to reach out to more women with your continuous support. Do share our project with your friends, family or anyone who would like to join us on this journey by clicking here.
Shall get back with more updates soon!!
