We have been working with more than 100 small organic arabica coffee farmers in our region (Sarangkot and Kaskikot village of Pokhara Nepal) to market their coffee cherry and give 30 % more money directly to the farmers compared to the other collectors. There are various types of challenges behind it and the first challenge is we need to compete with other established companies who already have a great share of the distribution of roasted coffee beans in Pokhara and sell at a low price compared to us (But they are importing low-quality coffee from outside country like robusta and mixed with some Nepali coffee to say as a 100 % organic coffee from Nepal). It is so difficult to convince the café owners about the price and what Nepali arabica coffee tastes like but, thanks to our great farmers and full-time workers who are very positively working to make a cup of quality coffee during our all process from harvesting coffee cherry to storage of coffee parchment within the high-quality moisture control bags to keep the aroma of our coffee fresh.
On the other hand, our mission of the project is to give more quality information about our community project to travelers by running the village hiking and coffee experience tour into our project so that we can also sell our coffee in our place to the travelers and create more jobs in the tourism by producing local guides from our village and empowering local women to serve organic lunch at their home. We have been marketing our tour since 2022 and thankfully after 2 years, we are getting some of the clients on our coffee tour. They love our village and are excited to see the coffee trees first time in their life. On the other hand, our fresh batch of this year's coffee cherry harvest is on the way and farmers are delivering their coffee to our processing center which we are expecting to be higher in production than last year.
We are also very excited that lots of new travel companies are coming to our village to see our offered one-day tour package which is unique in overall Nepal and they are promising to support our cause by integrating our tour itinerary into their Nepal holiday package.
