In August, MECA staff drove to Masara Village to sit in on their summer camp. 94 children from the village joined the free camp.
With your help, MECA provided funds for the youth leaders, the healthy food, and art supplies for this week-long summer camp. The kids in this small village, isolated by illegal Israeli settlements, enjoyed the chance to do relay races, learn folkloric dance, plant trees, and create art! They also had a cleaning campaign picking up trash in the village.
We asked the kids about their favorite foods and here are the three top answers:
1. Sfiha - a delicious meat pie with bell peppers and tomatoes
2. Laban Ab - a yogurt drink purchased from a dairy factory in the southern West Bank
3. Chocolate - a favorite for kids around the world!
