As we step into this new year, PCA America is looking forward to the many opportunities to advocate for policies that strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.
In 2021, the Child Tax Credit (CTC) was expanded and made available to those with little to no income through monthly payments. Nearly all families received the expanded monthly CTC – and nearly 66 million or 90% of children in the country – benefited from the program. However, the expanded CTC expired at the beginning of 2022.
Congress is currently negotiating a tax deal that could revive the expanded Child Tax Credit, offering essential support to lower-income families and adjusting for inflation.
Now, more than ever, families need our help– you can help advocate for families' economic stability! Reach out to your members of Congress today and advocate for the reinstatement of the Child Tax Credit. Every voice counts in ensuring our families and children receive the support they need.
Your support helps build stronger families! Thank you for being an advocate for children and families.
Together, we can prevent child abuse, America…because childhood lasts a lifetime!
