In consorted efforts with National Health Mission (NHM), Health Department- Govt. of West Bengal the Sabuj Sangha team continues his mission to reach out the deprived unreached people at the 6 now closed Tea Garden areas at Madarihat block in the Alipurduar District. We, the Sabuj Sangha team, are greatly indebted to Govt. for supporting us consistently in this continued endeavour.
The health services through the outreach health camps to the earlier unreached disadvantaged Below Poverty Line (BPL) community of the closed tea garden areas in remote forested Alipurduar at Himalayan foothills facilitate free doctor’s consultation, medication, counseling, pathological diagnostic cares reference for further treatments and. arrangement to send critical cases to better health institutions etc. services.
The closed tea garden areas are:
Commonly seen health issues in these areas are Cold, Fever, Gynaecological Problems, Hypertension, Anaemia etc. Patients from the remotest corners of these areas thus availing General health checkups, counseling, pathological diagnosis, reference and arrangements for sending referral cases to the govt. hospitals.
We continued special care services of pregnant mothers through different kinds of tests, like-HIV, Haemoglobin, Blood group etc. and by providing medicines following the doctor’s advices.
Along with general health issues, problems related to increasing age and/or adolescence are also treated. We continue to organize multiple medical camps at each of the locations so that all patients can be taken into complete health care observation and required follow ups.
During November’19 we organized 26 such Medical Camps and could serve 2495 Patients by experienced Doctors. Around 391 Diagnostic tests were made in the month of November, 2019. 61 Patients are sent to Govt. Hospitals as referral cases which cannot be addressed in the Camps.
We are greatly indebted to those who continued to support us for this noble cause. We aspire that support would be continued for reaching out more un-reached people who are still deprived of the basic services of Health required essentially.
We also request all others to extend their support so that we can continue the service smoothly and reach out more unserved communities.
