Sabuj Sangha with strong determination and a robust team continues reaching out the unserved with one of the essential human need - Health Services. The services that the organisation started since 2017 thus continued to be an essential area of reliability for the disadvantaged below poverty line (BPL) community in deep remote Alipurduar Tea Gardens in Madarihat Block at the border of Bhutan.
We are deeply thankful to National Health Mission (NHM) for giving us the opportunity to work hands in hand to serve the less fortunate people of the remotely located now closed Tea Garden Areas of remote Alipurduar district of West Bengal namely:
Commonly seen health issues in these areas are Cold, Fever, Gynaecological Problems, Hypertension, Anaemia etc. Patients from the remotest corners of these areas thus availing General health checkups, counseling, pathological diagnosis, reference and arrangement to send critical cases to better health institutions etc. services.
Following the doctor’s advice we also provide some free medicine to the patients. A noticeable number of reproductive cases are enrolled and further referred every month.
Along with general health issues, problems related to increasing age and/or adolescence are also treated. We continued to organize multiple medical camps at each of the locations so that all patients can be taken into complete health care observation and required follow ups.
During September’19 we organized 25 Medical Camps in the 6 mentioned Tea Garden Areas and could serve 2382 Patients by experienced Doctors. Out of which 42 patients are cases of Reproductive Health.
We continued special care services of pregnant mothers through different kinds of tests, like-HIV, Haemoglobin, Blood group etc. and by providing medicines following the doctor’s advices.
Around 441 Diagnostic tests were made in September’19.
65 patients for higher facilities are sent as referral cases to Birpara State General Hospital .
