The mission of serving the unreached at the remotely located tea garden areas in Alipurduar district, West Bengal that we started since 2017 continued with our determined commitment and health camps that we are conssitently organisaing. We are deeply thankful to National Health Mission for providing us all their support in serving the less fortunate people of the remotely located now closed Tea Garden Areas of remote Alipurduar district of West Bengal namely:
1) Dhumsipara Tea Garden
2) Hantapara Tea Garden
3) Garganda Tea Garden
4) Birpara Tea Garden
5) Dimdima Tea Garden and
6) Tulsipara Tea Garden
As mentioned in our earlier reports people live in this closed Tea Garden areas sustain their lives without the basic amenities a person require like safe drnking water, electricity, regular communication mode etc.
Thus, the service through the Health Camps organized by ‘Sabuj Sangha’ continues to be a healing touch to their pains and a source for healthy living.
The commonly seen health issues in these areas are Cold, Fever, Gynaecological Problems, Hypertension, Anaemia etc. Patients from the remotest corners of these areas can avail General health checkups, counseling, pathological diagnosis, reference and arrangement to send critical cases to better health institutions etc. services. Following doctor’s advice we also provided some free medicine to the patients. A noticeable number of reproductive cases are enrolled and further referred every month. Along with general health issues, problems related to increasing age and/or adolescence are also treated. We continued to organize multiple medical camps at each of the locations so that all patients can be taken into complete health care observation and required follow ups.
In March, 2019 we were blessed to provide Health Care for altogether 2310 patients and 269 Diagnostics Tests through 25 Health Camps. Out of the 2310 Patients 2256 are cases of Reproductive Health.
During April’19 we organized 23 Health Camps in the 6 mentioned Tea Garden Areas and could serve 1821 Patients by experienced Doctors. 51 patients were sent to government hospitals as referral cases for required better treatment facilities. Around 128 Diagnostic tests were made in April’19.
