Health Education Program for 250 Teens in Katsina

By Francis Osisiogu | Project Leader

The Health Education Program for 250 teens in Katsina is currently in its early stage, with a total funding goal of $5,750 and no funds raised yet. Financial progress remains the most urgent priority, as the full budget is required to begin implementation and secure essential resources such as training materials, workshop logistics, and stipends for facilitators and health professionals. Until initial funding is received, key project activities—including outreach, scheduling of workshops, and procurement of educational materials—are on hold.

Despite the current funding gap, preparatory efforts have been initiated to ensure rapid deployment once resources become available. Program coordinators have outlined a six-month engagement plan that includes interactive workshops, peer-led sessions, and mentorship from local health professionals. Partnerships with community stakeholders and schools are also being explored to ensure smooth participation and maximum reach among the targeted 250 adolescents.

The need for the project remains pressing, as many teens in the target communities continue to face preventable health risks due to limited access to accurate health information and practical guidance. The program is designed to address these gaps through hands-on learning in nutrition, hygiene, exercise, and disease prevention, with materials that reinforce long-term behavior change.

At this stage, accelerating financial contributions is critical to transitioning from planning to execution. Once initial funding milestones are achieved, the project is positioned to move quickly into implementation, delivering impactful health education that will not only benefit the participating teens but also extend to their families and communities through shared knowledge and improved health practices.
