During this time of the pandemic, various restrictions were imposed by the government in controlling the transmission of the Covid 19 outbreak, even more crucial one among others are urging to stay home, work from home, schools are on vacation (study from home), keep the distance between residents as far as 1 meter (social distancing). This greatly affects all activities at Rama Sesana Foundation. Responding to this situation, the Rama Sesana Foundation took action by maximizing the use of Social Media, including online Education.
This month the Rama Sesana Foundation filled its activities by holding 2 activities related to capacity building and education in the form of a webinar training series for Peer Educator (PE) On-line, which is a webinar series that will be held every 1 month with various topics of women’s health to webinar participants who are YRS volunteer online. Another activity is increasing the internal capacity of the YRS team which is an activity at the beginning of the year to increase team capacity in understanding the YRS program and organization as a whole to improve team integrity to achieve organizational goals.
This month’s training series webinar is the first webinar from the YRS online PE program, held on February 20, 2021 with 40 participants consisting of 38 women and 2 male participants. With the topic Sexual and Reproductive Health. The enthusiasm of the webinar participants was very high as indicated by the number of participants who were very active in asking questions and wanted to know more about the topic presented. The follow up of this webinar is that the participants are expected to share and educate other people about the topic in the webinar, which is guided by an electronic pamphlet about conclusions and important points about the educational topic in the webinar. The participants have the potential to become agents of health change in their environment, because some of the participants are members of an association or an organization and women such as; 1,866 who will later build new network for the sustainability of the program in the future.
For the activities to increase the internal capacity of the team, the staff is equipped with various topics including; understanding the YRS program and organization as whole, Maintaining professionalism in career and work even making a Daily Work Plan with the aim of making daily activities more organized. Staff are also given the opportunity to make presentations on topics such as Communications skills, Problem solving and Skill as midwives. The organization really hopes that capacity building can reduce and eliminate the bad performance of staff to become more productive and committed.
