YRS spent a lot of time in 2016 to expanding our Tiara Grosir Clinic. Our new clinic at Tiara Grosir Traditional Market is being expanded. We established at Tiara Grosir in north Denpasar after the fire in February destroyed our Pasar Badung clinic. So, along with many of traders from Pasar Badung we relocated to Tiara Grosir.
In 2016 we have launched two new programs:
• Early detection of breast cancer using a portable Ultrasound Machine, and
• Our See & Treat cervical cancer prevention program means women are treated for early stage cervical cancer at the time of their first visit. The program has proved successful in many low-resource regions around the world. Our medical staff use acetic acid to see changes on the cervix and if the result is positive, the patient is treated immediately with Cryotherapy.
Mobile Clinic Program
After a very successful Mobile Clinic in 2016, we will be expanding our Mobile Clinic program to Central of Bali this year. In this January, we will conduct two Mobile Clinics to deliver reproductive health and general health checks.
Commemoration of Mother’s Day with Peer Educators
Coinciding with Mother's Day on 22 December, along with peer YRS held refreshment about cervical cancer and breast cancer. After refreshment, YRS staff and seven peers provide information and counseling services to the vendors and visitors at Pasar Tiara Grosir about the importance of cervical and breast cancer. Cervical cancer and Breast cancer is the largest killer of women and does not cause symptoms in its early stages. In addition to performing his duties as a mother, they shall know the status of their reproductive health and shall maintain their reproductive health. From this activity, 70 women reached information from peers.
YRS would like to say a very big thank you to all of our wonderful supporters. Your support is essential as we work with you to create a future of good health that empowers the low-income women in Bali. Any donation you could make to support our programs would be really appreciated.
