Muwakhat Foundation aims to help the homeless who do not have access to basic health care facilities in Pakistan. Muwakhat Foundation wants to organize free health camps for the homeless where they can get tested and treated for COVID 19 for free and also other medical problems. Muwakhat Foundation wants to make these camps a monthly project so that women and children who face day-to-day health problems can get in contact with a doctor without worrying about the high fees and expensive medicines.
Homeless people do not have any access to the basic health care in our country. Even if there are free health institutions then the homeless are not aware about them. Women and children suffer from daily medical and physical problems that they can not cure because they do not get any medical help. Almost all the women from these homeless families suffer from back problems or overall weakness. Children mainly suffer from the cold due to the changing weather. Also combined with the pandemic, many fall prey to the COVID 19 but never realize it. When they are sick, they can not go to work and can not earn for their family. Due to these reasons, the children have to drop out and stay home as well. To help them from falling sick, Muwakhat Foundation wants to provide them with monthly health camps. With regular check ups, these families can deal with their illnesses and keep working to feed their families.
Muwakhat Foundation conducted one free health back in September 2021 as a part of their pilot project. Muwakhat Foundation has been helping 23 registered families since the start of the pandemic and organized a health camp for them. The aim was to get the families tested for COVID. During the camp, it was found out that these families fell sick more often than other people. Many common illnesses were found out by the doctors present during the camp. The women, in general, had a lot of deficiencies which caused them body aches due to which they could not go to work. The doctors present prescribed medicines where needed and even gave out free medicines which did not need any prescriptions. The children, due to lack of food and water, suffered from various diseases. Good nutrition with the help of vitamins can make a huge difference for these children.
Muwakhat Foundation aims to work with the homeless families who were affected by COVID 19 financially while it also affected their health.
Muwakhat Foundation expects to treat homeless families and make them free of any illness. As a result of good health, the families can continue on with their normal life. They can keep earning. The children can continue their education.
