Dengue fever is spreading rapidly in the slums of Srikalahsti Municipality. STEPS NGO Health team creating awareness in slums to keep their surroundings clean so that the breeding Mosquitoes who cause Dengue, Malaria fevers, Filariasis can be prevented.
KavyaSri saved from Dengue fever
This is the story of young girl saved from Dengue fever. Kavyasri aged 8 years saved from the Dengue fever by the STEPS Urban Health Center staff as a part of program activity. Her father Gopi is living in Salipeta, one of the slum in Srikalahasti Town.He is poor and mainly depends on daily earnings. On 24-10-15 Gopi observed her daughter suffering with fever. He went to STEPSS UHC for treatment. After treatment, Medical officer sent her to Area hospital for clinical tests. The test for Dengue fever was positive. STEPS UHC Medical Officer immediately referred her to Pediatrician in Tirupati for treatment. After 1 week of she recovered from disease and discharged. Her father Gopi said “My daughter saved from Dengue fever because of the timely treatment and referral advice by the UHC staff”.
Organized health camp at STEPS Health centre on 17-10-2015. Examined 20 Filariasis patients. Provided Treatment, Medicines and Fruits.
