Dear Donors
Greetings from STEPS
Organized health camp at Project Street and Filariasis patients were provided treatment and medicines. Mrs. Vajramma one of the Filariasis patients created awareness about diseases to the slum people during health camp.
A case study
Mrs.B. Vajramma, wife of B. Ranganadham, aged 52 yrs living in Door. no. 15-1040 Project street slum, Srikalahasti Municipality, India. They are very poor and depend on her husband daily earnings. She is suffering with Filariasis since 25 years. During field survey STEPS NGO staff identified her and advised to take treatment. She approached STEPS Health centre and started taking treatment.
B. Vajramma attended Health camp organised by STEPS NGO on 25-04-2015. She was requested to give feedback about the disease. She advised the slum people to take care of their health. “I have not taken any treatment for Filariais even though I am suffering with the disease since many years. With the advice of STEPS Health Centre staff, I am taking treatment. Now the spreading of the disease stopped and I am taking the treatment regularly. My advice to fellow slum people is to keep your premises clean, so that many diseases can be prevented. For any disease take treatment immediately and do not suffer like me. I request Dr.Prameelamma to convey my thanks to all donors and Global Giving for supporting this program” said Vajramma.
