Project Report on
“Health & Hope for Ethiopia’s Displaced Mothers” (#71969)
Submitted to the GlobalGiving Community
December 18, 2025
Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Over the past three months, Face Up Generation Aid Organization (FUGAO) has continued its life-saving work to protect the health, dignity, and wellbeing of displaced mothers through our project “Health & Hope for Ethiopia’s Displaced Mothers.”
Conflict, displacement, drought, and limited access to healthcare have placed pregnant and lactating women among the most vulnerable groups in Ethiopia. This project addresses these urgent needs by delivering maternal healthcare services, nutrition support, psychosocial care, and dignity assistance, ensuring that displaced mothers are not left behind during crisis.
Thanks to your generous support, mothers are receiving care, hope is being restored, and lives are being protected.

From September to December 2025, FUGAO implemented maternal health and protection interventions in Afar, Amhara, Oromia, and Southern Ethiopia, focusing on:
In collaboration with local health facilities, mobile health teams, midwives, and community health volunteers, services were delivered directly to displacement sites and underserved communities.

Mothers attending psychosocial sessions report reduced stress, better bonding with their babies, and renewed emotional strength.
Challenges We Encountered
Despite progress, several challenges affected implementation:
