Introduction
Over the past four months, our mission has remained focused on supporting vulnerable children through education and feeding initiatives. While we have continued serving the children under our care, we have reflected on the areas where meaningful growth has not yet occurred and the challenges that continue to affect our work.
What has transpired over the Past four months?
Our team has remained committed to providing support, care, and meals to children in need. Activities have continued consistently, and we have maintained our presence within the community. Soccer has been a highlight of the program, with the children participating in regular practice sessions and several matches, helping them grow in skills. Additionally, the children attended boxing training sessions during these past two months. However, much of our work has remained at the same level, highlighting the need for additional resources and support to expand our impact.
Areas Where We Have Fallen Short
Despite our commitment, several challenges have limited our progress:
Educational Resources and Teaching Methods
We have not yet seen significant improvement in the educational support we provide. There is a need to introduce more engaging learning activities like drawing, writing, and role plays (things that make learning fun). A major challenge is the shortage of teaching aids and learning resources. Without these tools, it becomes difficult to enhance the learning experience and support children's academic development.
Food Shortages
Food insecurity remains one of our greatest challenges. While we continue to provide meals whenever possible, there are occasions when the available food is insufficient to adequately feed every child. This situation affects both the children's well-being and our ability to fulfill our mission to ensure that no child goes hungry. This has been exacerbated by the spike in the cost of food and livelihood in general. This has put a strain on what we are able to fundraise for daily feeding and remunerating the volunteer team. Financial constraints have also limited opportunities to expand programs and improve service delivery.
What Needs to Be Done
To create meaningful change and eventually feed and support at least 200 children, the following priorities must be addressed:
1. Secure increased Sustainable Funding to:
2. Improve Educational Support
We need to:

What We Are Seeking
Conclusion
While the past four months have highlighted significant challenges, they have also reinforced the importance of our mission. Our desire is not only to feed children but also to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed for a brighter future. With additional support, resources, and partnerships, we can improve the quality of our programs and work towards reaching and sustaining at least 200 children.
