Valli is one of the beneficiares under our Hand-in-Hand Dialysis Aid Program, a dialysis patient whose journey reflects resilience and quiet strength. Between 2014 and 2018, she underwent multiple surgeries due to complications from diabetes and was advised to stop working to focus on her recovery. The loss of her left leg became a significant turning point in her life, yet it did not diminish her determination to remain independent. Today, Valli continues to care for herself and her father while managing ongoing medical needs. Despite the challenges, she travels independently for dialysis treatments and medical appointments, upholding her dignity and self-reliance.
Meanwhile, Chon Fah, 65, is a dialysis patient with a long history of kidney-related illness. He has been living away from his family, as his wife and young son remain in their hometown. He works as a freelance piping technician to support himself, despite the challenges of his health condition. He has been battling kidney problems since 1995 and previously received a kidney donation from his sister. However, his condition worsened again in 2022, requiring him to resume dialysis treatment. Despite these challenges, he continues to hold on to hope and remains motivated by his responsibilities toward his family. Through our program, support is extended to help ease his dialysis expenses and provide him with greater stability in continuing his treatment journey.
