Dear Friends of the Haiti Goat Project,
I hope this note finds you and your loved ones both refreshed and healthy as we begin 2022.
On behalf of our entire Haiti Goat Project team, both here in the US and in Haiti, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts for the support that you have provided to the Haiti Goat Project. Your contributions are making a real difference in the lives of children and their families in the Gressier area of Haiti.
As we close 2021 and begin 2022, we have fantastic news! The 2021 end-of-year fundraising push allowed us to more than reach our original fundraising goal of $19,000. As a result of the contributions that you and other donors like you have made, we are now able to provide weekly Chili Kabrit meals to a total of 675 school children - and their teachers - for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you so very much for your generosity!!!!
Here is a brief update on the project....
Our goat herd is doing very well. The mature females are pregnant and the bucks (males) are again being pastured away from the females until next breeding season. We are now looking forward to the start of kidding (birthing) season, which should begin sometime in February or March.
Our Farm-to-Fork team took a break because the children have been off of school for the past couple of weeks for Christmas and New Year’s holidays but will be starting back again next week. As schools begin again in the new semester, our team will start back up to supply weekly Chili Kabrit meals to the students and teachers at the Jeanjean, Ticousin, and Tiboukan rural schools for the entire spring semester which ends in June of 2022.
We are incredibly fortunate and so grateful that you have provided enough funds to be able to support both the goat herd and Farm-to-Fork programs all the way through to the end of the school year. As always, thank you so very, very much.
With warmest regards,
Char
