Hello Everyone!
Thanks to all of your generous support, we were able to raise $5,000 in less than two weeks through 40 individual donors and earn a permanent spot on GlobalGiving.org. This is a huge win for the Native American Advancement Foundation (NAAF) as a way to spread the word of our mission and to reach donors around the world. Again, thank you so much for making this possible!
NAAF's After-School Program is doing great things to break the cycle of poverty on the Tohono O'odham Reservation, located in Arizona. This month the students will begin each session with tutoring, followed by reading time and online math exercises. STEM activities will be taught two sessions per week, and every Wednesday students will participate in the Healthy O'odham Promotion Program (HOPP) which offers fitness clinics and wellness counseling in their state-of-the-art exercise center. All students are fed a nutritious dinner and participate in outdoor and indoor games to conclude each after-school session.
Listen to what a few of our students had to say about the program:
"The staff help us with homework! Homework time is awesome!" - Rose, age 9
"I like to play outdoor and indoor games, especially Twister!" - Aiden, age 5
