Summary

Cedar Village’s Home Care offers the services of experienced personnel to the community.  Having older adults feel comfortable, independent and secure while remaining in their familiar surroundings is one of the goals of Cedar Village’s Home Care.

Challenge

One of the restrictions for older adults is the ability to carry out the activities of daily living.  Cedar Village’s Home Care provides companionship, transportation to doctors’ appointments, meetings with friends, the grocery store and even beauty shops.  These simple matters which most people take for granted, are vital for older adults to be able to feel like they are still living a meaningful life.  Family members are also appreciative when our Home Care providers can come and lend a knowledgeable and safe hand, while giving them some much needed respite time.  Even for the elderly, making new friends is so important, as they are now in that stage of life where they are losing some of them.

Solution

Since Cedar Village Home Care is always striving to improve, we are also increasing our efforts to bring independent living to those adults who want to live in the place they love most: home.

Long-Term Impact

By being able to offer services such as, bathing, dressing, laundry, toileting, light housekeeping, grooming and hygiene assistance, in addition to companionship, shopping, driving and errands, the adults we help can function with the dignity and respect they deserve.
