By Sally Korkin | Executive Director, Cedar Village Foundation
Patients who come to Cedar Village for inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy are benefitting from the services they receive at The Rehabilitation Center at Cedar Village. Debi, our Rehabilitation Director has introduced a new therapy team member, Gates, a golden retriever, who is a rescue dog and has been trained to provide therapeutic respite for patients. Gates helps motivate the patients to work as hard as they can to reach their goals. As one outpatient person stated, "I have a hard time with motivation. I get tired quickly. I look at all of the people around me who can move easily. Once I see Gates, I have more strength and a will to get back on my feet."
