Thanks to incredible supporters like you, the Kruger team wrapped up the year with a total of 24 camera traps for 2019!
An incredible total of 204,391 images were taken in 2019! This included 146 images of leopards and 2,203 images of nocturnal elusive species.
The last few weeks have been full of spotted hyenas and brown hyenas! Hyenas are often misunderstood and portrayed as scavengers, but they are actually very successful hunters, with the one of the strongest jaws in the African Bush.
The team has started to reposition the camera traps in Rietspruit to be better aligned with the paths that the species are taking since we now know their trails. As the grass and flora grows under the summer sun we have to be careful where we place the cameras so that there is nothing blocking the images.
With your help we're excited to see our conservation program expand further to help with the knowledge and awareness of these species!
Thank you for supporting the wildlife of the Greater Kruger Area.
