Betsy is one of our residents and a beneficiary of the AFCA project. Betsy is a widow and she is HIV positive. She is currently taking care of her four grandchildren who are orphans.
Betsy appreciates the support she received from Baylor Uganda under the AFCA project. Here is an update in her own words .. “I thank the project for the trainings that I was given in the areas of crop production, animal production as well as village saving and loaning associations. All these have helped to improve my wellbeing. Though my goat project faced some challenges, I am very hopeful that it will do well in future. On the other hand I have been able to get loans from my group easily and use it in farming of which I am expecting at least 10 bags of maize harvest. The crop production training I was taken through is also helping me to do better in crop farming practices such as early planting, better seed selection and early weeding which has greatly improved my farming.”
