Executive Summary (May–June 2026)
Between May and June 2026, the GCIOBA USA Mentorship Program conducted five interactive two-hour sessions at the GCI Museum for scholarship students at Government College, Ibadan. The sessions focused on reflection and SMART goal setting, self-identity, self-esteem, peer pressure and assertiveness, and health and hygiene.
The program strengthened students’ self-awareness, confidence, decision-making, personal responsibility, and healthy living habits. Students participated actively, demonstrated thoughtful engagement, and showed a strong commitment to applying the lessons in their academic and personal lives.

The program contributed significantly to students’ personal, social, emotional, and academic growth. Participants became more reflective, confident, disciplined, and better equipped to make positive life choices. The high level of engagement confirmed the value of combining character development with practical life-skills education.

Mentor Reflection
The students responded positively to practical, interactive mentoring and openly discussed issues affecting their personal development. The logical progression of topics—from goal setting to self-awareness, confidence, decision-making, and healthy living—provided a strong foundation for character development. Continued mentorship will remain vital in helping these young men grow into disciplined, confident, healthy, and purpose-driven leaders.
Conclusion
The May–June 2026 mentorship sessions successfully enhanced students’ personal development, confidence, resilience, and health awareness while reinforcing academic focus and responsible leadership. The strong participation and positive outcomes demonstrate that the GCIOBA USA Mentorship Program continues to play an important role in developing well-rounded young men at Government College, Ibadan.
