GOING BACK TO THE BASICS – SUMMARY REPORT
Over the past few months, we have engaged with the students through a series of structured mentoring sessions under the theme "Going Back to the Basics." These sessions focus on helping students reflect on their academic habits, build self-awareness, and develop life skills essential for both school success and future readiness. All sessions took place at the Schools Museum.
Session 1 – June 23, 2025
Theme: Introduction & Experience Sharing
This session focused on establishing rapport, creating a safe space for open conversations, and building trust. Students were encouraged to reflect on their academic habits, identify strengths and weaknesses, and set realistic goals for improvement.

Theme: Time Management
This session emphasized the importance of time management and its impact on academic performance. Students identified personal time wasters and explored strategies for more productive routines.

Theme: Tips for Answering Examination Questions
The goal of this session was to build exam preparedness by sharing practical techniques for interpreting and responding to questions. Students reflected on their progress and shared strategies in a collaborative environment.

Theme: Pre-Exam Encouragement
This session aimed to reduce exam-related anxiety and reinforce a positive mindset. Students were encouraged to discuss their feelings openly, ask questions, and receive reassurance ahead of their exams.

Conclusion
The sessions have successfully created a foundation for academic focus, personal growth, and mental readiness for exams. Students demonstrated increasing engagement, self-awareness, and motivation. As we move forward, these foundational efforts will serve as a springboard for more targeted academic and life skills development.
