GLOBAL POTENTIAL DOES IT AGAIN!!!

Our 7th summer internationally, opening minds, opening hearts, connecting powerful young people from historically marginalized communities to each other.  This summer we had 5 groups of youth travel from their inner-city neighborhoods in New York, Boston, and Paris, together with youth from our partner villages, to 5 of our amazing communities in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Senegal.

Our 60 youth grew long-lasting awareness, self-confidence, and relationships with local youth, families, and organizations. They helped to build gardens, erosion prevention walls, and sports fields, and schools.  They did internships in Health Clinics, preschools, local NGO offices, and with local village leaders and craftspeople. They ran multi-day Youth-Led Leadership Conferences for over 800 local youth from surrounding villages. They taught English, Human Rights, Environmental Sustainability, and Media making.

It was a powerful 45 days for the 60 youth and staff who traveled, the 800 local youth participants, and the 60 families that hosted our youth in their homes.  All of the participants have returned to their homes ready to make major changes in their own lives and communities!
