We can’t thank you enough for checking in to read our most recent progress report. Your support for our Global Education Professional Development program has allowed us to provide support to educators from a number of developing nations. With your support, educators are learning about innovating ways to bring global perspectives, foresting a sense of environmental stewardship, and empowering student voices in their classrooms.
This northern-hemisphere summer, we hosted a class of our Project-based Learning for Global Citizenship course, where educators gained theory and were supported in starting cross-cultural global collaborative classroom projects.
Here are a few testimonies of participants from the summer cohort:
“This e-course has given us a platform to work together to form an incredible project plan we will implement in the fall. This project plan is very extensive and wouldn't have happened without the e-course.”
“I realized how important it is to teach social issues in the classroom and to not pass over them lightly and the idea to let students be actively involved in their learning.”
Recently, our Executive Director Jennifer traveled to Arviat, Nunavut, in Canada's north. She posted a powerful blog entitled "We all need a future we can look forward to" highlighting some of the challenges youth are facing in the north and and opportunities to support their education, and we hope to bring our professional development programs to this community in the near future.
As we enter the holiday season, we'd appreciate you thinking of TakingITGlobal when it comes to planning your year-end giving. Your generous donations have a collateral effect - they are going a long way in improving education for students in over 140 countries!
Thank you so much for the important part you have played in advancing global education worldwide!
Sincerely,
Tania Rashid
