Hi everyone - we hope all of you in the northern hemisphere are enjoying your summer!
As we wrapped up our open professional development course cycle early this year, we embarked on a renewed collaboration with the Toronto District School Board, expanding our professional learning partnership to a second family of schools (about 20 more schools, for a total of close to 40!) in the Scarborough region of Toronto.
To celebrate everyone's projects and course learning, we held an Innovation Fair last year to enable everyone to meet in person and showcase their projects. Building on last year's success, we decided this year to have even more students engaged in the Innovation Fair, and have them take on the role of "hosting" the tables to showcase their classroom projects. We also launched a new Projects Database to allow educators to post and showcase their projects and find collaborators from around the world. Have a look at the video below that showcases the Innovation Fair's highlights, which was kindly produced in-kind for us by Workbay:
We also received news that Cisco Foundation will be providing a grant to support educators in Toronto's most underserved schools next year, and we look forward to expanding this work further with their support. We hope to offer additional open course cycles this coming school year, so we appreciate your support in providing funding for scholarships for those educators who can't afford to participate from the developing world.
