With the support of GLAADiators like you, GLAAD released the fourth annual Studio Responsibility Index, a report that maps the quantity, quality, and diversity of LGBT storylines in films released by the seven largest studios during the 2015 calendar year.
The report found that only 17.5% of the films released by major studios included LGBT characters, and that the majority of those characters were minor characters. And sadly, the racial diversity of LGBT characters drastically decreased from the previous year.
Read the report that you made possible here.
Hollywood's films lag far behind any other form of media when it comes to portrayals of LGBT characters. And often, the few LGBT characters that make it to the big screen are the target of a punchline or stereotyped token characters.
Sharing new and inclusive stories through film is a powerful tool for building acceptance of LGBT people. With this report, we can hold Hollywood accountable and ensure that LGBT people are represented fairly and accurately. Thank you for helping shine a light on this critical issue.

Thank you for being a GLAADiator,
Rodrigo
