GLAAD: All Access show interviews unlikely ally, inspires moving responses, when Southern conservative mother talks accepting her transgender daughter
GLAAD recently sat down with Debi Jackson, a mother of a young transgender daughter. In the interview with GLAAD: All Access, the conservative Southern Baptist discusses accepting her child's identity. Parent Magazine's site wrote a full-length article about Debi Jackson as a result of GLAAD's video, and then also shared the article on the outlet's Facebook page. It is clear from the article that the interview had a tangible impact on "the movable middle" by illustrating the humanity of trans people and their families. The interview was also featured on The Huffington Post, Out, Transgriot, Towerload, Frontiersmedia, Trans-parenting, and Bulgegull, increasing positive images of family acceptance and fueling cultural change thorugh the media.
