We thank the GlobalGiving, contrinutors and donors having made a small but important contribution to ensure refugee youth from Myanmar could study despite US funding cut and donors retreating from past comittments. While students are financially secured for the second year due to support from multiple sources and have successfully progressed in their education, giving them the skills needed to contribute to community and future generations in Myanmar, some questions remian about how to ensure the financial means for the third and final year of education for four of them. We and ICA have decided to close this fudnraiser to focus on grant applications providing the certainty needed in the final year of study.
Earning Masters degrees in Northeast India will transform these students' lives as it offers safety, enhances employability, and equips them with advanced skills. It already has improved social integration and made them role models for other displaced individuals. We strongly belive education of youth will provide a crucial basis for rebuilding Myanmar in the future, as it beyond skills provides purpose and improves mental well-being of the students and their communities.
We thank you for being part of this effort.
