This report highlights the majority of health accomplishments for the children.
During this period, some children experienced minor coughs and colds, which were treated with prescribed medicines. However, one child was brought to the ER due to limping. She had difficulty standing and walking. She was immediately admitted to the hospital for seven (7) days. The initial diagnosis was Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), a rare disease typically affecting individuals fifty (50) years old and above. A Pediatric Neurologist recommended a nerve test, which showed that two (2) of her nerves were affected. An MRI with sedation was recommended to determine if her spine was also affected. While hospitalized, she developed a cough and was temporarily discharged for home treatment. She has recovered from her cough and is now ready for the MRI in the second week of June.
Another child, a 3-year-old toddler with clubfoot, underwent successful surgery last year and has completed several physical therapy sessions. She is now ready for the removal of steel and screws in her feet this June or July.
A 6-month-old baby, newly admitted this quarter, underwent a 2D Echo. The results showed mild tricuspid regurgitation. He is under observation and taking medications.
On the educational front, two (2) older boys graduated from 6th grade, and eight (8) children progressed from Kinder and Daycare. Additionally, twenty-one (21) children will be promoted to the next grade level for the 2024-2025 school year.
Overall, forty-three (43) children are being provided with their basic needs.
We are very grateful for all the generosity and love you’ve continuously blessed our kids. May the good Lord reward you for all the blessings you’ve shared with us and keep you safe, healthy and happy always in all ways.
