The Give them a Future Project is being taken up in 21 tribal villages which have no history of literacy or school education. The project reaches out to children born and nurtured in nature's lap, growing in complete freedom, but unable to compete in a world of information, and electronics, as they cannot even read.
The project has reached out to tribal children in some of the remotest villages, and helped them to study and get good education. The increase in learning levels of the children in Government Primary Schools, the growing interest of Government School teachers, and the attractive text books supplied under the project has been much appreciated by the District Collector of Rayagada. She agreed that this effort needs to be showcased in a district level workshop.
Thus on 13th April, 2017, a "Workshop for Reading and Language Development" was organised in Rayagada. The District Collector attended the meeting in person, and commeded the efforts and achievement of Agragamee under the project.
The workshop was a unique opportunity to promote the very necessary cause of tribal education, involving community leaders, Members of the School Management Committees(SMCs) teachers, officials, NGO Leders, Media persons and academics. The Dist. Collector, Ms. Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, IAS has been so entusiastic about reading, writing and learning at the Pre-school and Primary School Level, that she had invited CDPOs from 7 Blocks of Rayagada District, the District Education Officer, the District Project Coordinator, Orissa Primary Education Programme, the District Welfare Officer, as well as the Block Development Officers from 4 Blocks. The message from her has been very positive: "Let Rayagada Dist. start a New Chapter in ensuring Education For All from 0-5, 6-14-15-35 Age Group. And it is possible by our Collective Efforts".
The workshop had children from Agragamee School, who sang the welcome song, as also spoke about their learning experience in the school.
