By Stephanie Quinn | Director of Annual and Leadership Giving
On behalf of the Pediatric Program, thank you for your donation to our holiday drive at Spaulding Rehab Hospital. Your support ensured a brighter holiday season for the patients and families in our care this December. We held several events, including a gingerbread decorating party, hot chocolate day, holiday party with games and crafts, and Christmas Eve meal. Your generosity ensured that on Christmas morning all our patients and their siblings had something to open!
The Pediatric Program is a 12-bed inpatient unit, where children ages birth through 21 receive skilled physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and medical care. On average, a patient’s stay with us is 26 days, meaning some families miss out on their typical holiday celebrations. Your support helped us make the holidays at Spaulding a little more magical and reduce the stress of the hospital experience. In addition to the holidays, the gifts carry us through many birthdays, difficult therapy sessions, medical procedures, and special events for the coming year. The many board games, Legos, dolls, electronics, crafts, tie dye supplies, and countless other items help our pediatric team engage our patients, normalize the environment, and reduce the stress of the hospital experience.
Once again, thank you for your kindness this past oliday season. All the best for 2023!
