Hi everyone!
Firstly, we would like to provide you with the current situation we are facing: everyday more and more refugees are arriving on the island of Lesvos. Currently all the camps are operating beyond their maximum capacity: there are 13,000 people in Moria, 4,000-5,000 in Olive Grove of which 1,000 are unaccompanied minors and children.
As winter fast approches solar panels are of significant importance to the refugees on the island. The solar panels generate electricity to keep the refugees warm and out of the dark. We are currently able to provide the existing isoboxes on the camp with enough electicity. We hope that the battery packs will be stored with light energy that will be of enough use for the winter months ahead.
Due to the continuous arrival of more and more refugees, we are looking to expand our project on Giving Solar powered electricity. We need your help to do this! We have the team of volunteers to be able to support this expansion. We are now looking for funding to help support this expansion, as we believe this is where the needs are most!
With gratitude for your support,
Team Movement on The Ground
