The project "Give Me Hope to Live Happily" focuses on raising awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) in North Kivu communities. It aims to educate people on the rights of women and girls, promote gender equality, and support victims. Through workshops and local collaborations, the project seeks to decrease the acceptance of GBV and enhance protective measures, ultimately creating a safe environment where individuals can live with dignity and without fear of violence.
lack of financial and human resources limits the scope of activities. Additionally, the stigma surrounding victims often prevents them from coming forward and seeking help. Lastly, ongoing insecurity in North Kivu complicates access to communities and hampers efforts to raise awareness and protect the rights of women and girls.
This project will address the issue through a multi-faceted approach. It will conduct awareness workshops to educate communities about women's and girls' rights and the impact of GBV. Victims will receive direct support, including psychological and legal services. Partnerships with local stakeholders will strengthen protection networks. Additionally, communication campaigns will aim to shift mindsets and reduce stigma, ultimately creating a safer and more equitable environment.
The project has the potential for long-term impact by fostering a culture of respect for women's and girls' rights, reducing the prevalence of GBV, and empowering communities. Increased awareness and support systems can lead to lasting behavioral changes, improved safety, and enhanced gender equality, ultimately transforming societal norms.
