Give Me Hope to Live Happily

By PASCAL | Cordinator

In North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, many women and girls continue to face gender-based violence, discrimination, and fear. For survivors, speaking out and seeking help can be difficult, especially when stigma, insecurity, and limited access to support services stand in the way. The Give Me Hope to Live Happily project aims to help change this reality by promoting women's and girls' rights, encouraging gender equality, and building communities where everyone can live with dignity and feel safe.

The project is currently in its preparation and resource mobilization phase. We are identifying qualified trainers and prospective learners who will participate in the planned awareness sessions. Once activities begin, the project will provide community education on preventing gender-based violence, promote respect for women's and girls' rights, and work with local partners to strengthen protection networks. Where resources and appropriate services are available, survivors will also be connected with psychological and legal support. Although implementation has not yet started, these preparations are an important first step toward reaching the communities that need this support.

The total project budget is $14,500, and we have raised $171 so far through the generosity of our early supporters. This contribution is an encouraging beginning, but additional funding is essential to bring the planned activities to life and reach more women, girls, families, and community members. Through our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we are working to expand the project's visibility, connect with more international donors, and mobilize the resources needed to advance our mission. We recognize that reaching our fundraising goal will require continued support, and we remain committed to using donations responsibly and sharing updates on our progress.

We sincerely thank every donor who has already contributed, as well as GlobalGiving for helping us share this important initiative with a wider audience. Your generosity can help a woman find the courage to seek support, help a girl better understand her rights, and encourage a community to reject violence rather than remain silent. We invite individuals, foundations, and compassionate supporters around the world to join us in making this vision a reality. Every donation, whatever its size, brings us one step closer to a safer and more hopeful future for women and girls in North Kivu. Together, we can help turn hope into meaningful change.
