Fall is approaching, and with the promise of sweater weather comes a new school year! ETM is proud to bring life-changing access to music education to 36,000 children this year through our partner school program. With your support, ETM is working with 70 schools across all five borough of New York City. These schools did not have the resources to provide music for all students on their own, and so they are partnering with us to make that a reality.
To help music programs get off to a great start, ETM recently welcomed more than 80 music teachers to the annual ETM Academy, where they received targeting training and professional development. ETM educates music teachers on the topics that will equip them to succeed in the classroom, including classroom management, developing music literacy, working with students with special needs, culturally responsive instruction, lesson planning, and leading ensembles. Teachers were also matched with their ETM mentors, who will support them throughout the entire school year.
ETM knows that a music class is only as good as its teacher, and thanks to donors like you, ETM can offer training and support to music teachers all year long. Workshops and meetings give teachers space not only to learn, but also to network with one another, connecting and sharing their successes or lessons learned. Giving them a strong community means teachers are even better prepared to provide a quality music education. ETM is excited to see the impact these instructors make on partner school students this year.
Thank you for supporting ETM and helping provide children in need with access to high quality music education. Your gift is truly making a difference by helping ETM drive equity and bring music to more children than ever before. Don’t forget to share this report with your friends and family to show them the incredible programming you help make possible!
