Children and adult with disability from barangay Pamplona Uno Chapter of persons with disabilities were the priority beneficiaries for Give Hope from Home Project. Diaper distribution were delivered to the following persons with disability members who definitely needs diaper support,
MEET JENETTE, 51year old with cancer
Her cancer was detected in 2024 at Stage 3-EET JENETTE, 51 YEAR OLD FEMALE B. Surgery was no longer an option because it had already spread to both breasts and her back. She was prescribed oral chemotherapy.
Her caregiver is her 72-year-old mother. Since her diagnosis, Jennett has been unable to get up or walk. Her left hand and arm have also been affected, leaving them immobile.She and her mother live with her sibling, staying only in the garage. Their food is not provided, and they often go without. She can no longer go for medical check-ups because they cannot afford it. Most of the time, they resort to begging just to have something to eat.
Jennett's condition is critical, and her family’s circumstances leave them unable to cope. This case calls for urgent humanitarian and medical intervention to ensure dignity, survival, and compassionate care for both patient and caregiver.
MEET MARKUS , 7 Year old with intellectual disabilities
Marcus has an intellectual disability and has been diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay (GDD) and epilepsy. His condition is inborn, and he is unable to walk. Occasionally, he and his family are able to borrow a wheelchair so he can go outside, but it is difficult because the wheelchair does not fit him properly. What he truly needs is a customized wheelchair suited to his condition.
When Marcus was only two years old, his father abandoned the family and lived with another woman. His mother fought for child support, and as a result, Marcus receives 3,000 per month. To supplement this, hisM mother works as a cashier on weekends to help cover his maintenance and medical need
MEET KYLE. an 8 year old with cerebral palsy and epilepsy
Kyle continues to require regular medical maintenance and care.as an 8yearold child diagnosed with intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. Kyle was born with a condition requiring a nasogastric tube (NGT) for feeding. He was scheduled for surgery due to a lump in his stomach, but the procedure was not pursued because of the high medical risk.
At present, Kyle’s only source of nutrition is milk, and he continues to require regular medical maintenance. His most urgent need now is a personal oxygen tank, as the one currently used by the family is only borrowed.
MEET ALDREY , 14 yr old with learning disability and epilepsy
Aldrey, 14 years old, has a learning disability and has been diagnosed with epilepsy and deafness. At 11 months old, he suffered from bacterial meningitis, which greatly affected his development. He used to be placed in a wheelchair, but as he grew older, this is no longer possible. He now spends most of his time lying down with his parents. His family urgently needs a bed with wheels, so Aldrey can be moved around the house or taken outside, as his mother can no longer carry him.
The stories of Jenette,cancer patient; , Markus, a child with intellectual disability; Kyle, the child with inborn duplication 10p, Aldrey, and the other young individuals with conmplex disabilities remind us that diapers are not merely medical supplies—they are instruments of dignity, hygiene, and inclusion. For children who cannot control their bodily functions, diapers safeguard health, ease the burden on caregivers, and allow families to participate in daily life without fear or stigma.
Through the Las Piñas Persons with Disabilities Federation, Inc. (LPPWDFI), we call for sustained support in the distribution of diapers as a vital intervention for these families. By addressing this urgent need, we uphold the rights of children with disabilities to live with comfort and dignity, while empowering their parents and caregivers. This initiative is not charity—it is a commitment to equity, compassion, and community solidarity
