The Philippines has experienced several LPAs these past months that has caused difficulties for the Las Piñas Persons with disability Federation to implement programs. But since the Give Hope from Home project is committed to give diapers to children with disabilities in the 20 barangays in las piñas we have scheduled a diaper distribution to 50 indigent children with disabilities for this quarter.
We prioritized children having severe disability and cannot manage spending the day without diapers. Here are some of the children that was visited by chapter Officers of LPPWDFI,
Story of Xian
Xian was born January 30, 2015 and is now 10 years old residing at saint Joseph subd. Barangay Pulanglupa Dos.
His mother Janice is separated from her husband and xian has 5 other siblings. He was diagnosed with ADHD and has epilepsy. Because of this condition and also because of financial difficulties he did not attend school. Recently, he had an episode of epilepsy and he had high fever after which he was unable to walk and had to be on a wheelchair. The diapers given to xian will cover 3 to 4 months supply and will definitely help augment additional costs incurred by their family due to Xian’s disability.Through this project officers of brgy. pulanglupa dos was able to see xians condition and readily instructed the coordinators to schedule a check up in the Mental hospital for free medicines for his seizures.

Unfortunately her mother left her and her 2 other siblings with their father whose sole means for leaving is selling rice cakes in front of their house. Denise is not in school since her father Noel needs to earn for a living for their family and he is the only one who can take care of denise since her other siblings are lso minors. This is why upon receiving the diapers, her father was so happy since he did not have to worry about denise's diaper needs for 3 months. The federation will also endorse her father to liveihoo programs of the government.

The project GIVE HOPE FROM HOME is the federation's way to help augment additional costs incurred by families due to a member with disability by giving them access to diaper needs, assistive devices, links to check ups and free medicines. This is also the federation's way of updatinnnng on the conditions of the persons with disabilities and guard their rights to life and living a dignified life. Thanks to GlobalGiving for this.
