What's been keeping us busy these past few months?
Sharing our creative STEM tools for Teachers around the World!
In October this year, we brought schools, teachers, students, and role models together to test out and share our recent project to create STEM tools for teachers. WOW - what fun we had!
Imagine getting a chance to try these workshops (at any age):
If you know us or been to any of our events, you know already that we have 100s of these types of activities - and that's how we encourage girls of all ages and backgrounds around the world to consider STEM studies and careers in their future. Even conducting a short exercise such as these - you can make a huge difference. In fact, 94% of the girls who attend our events tell us at the end of the event that they now want to pursue STEM. WOW!
For the past year, we've had the chance to work with organisations and schools in Europe to create a set of experiments designed to provide to teachers in a way that doesn't require equipment or costly materials.
ENTER the Grace Hopper Debug Dash!
This is one of the resources we had the chance to create - and recently tested and shared with teachers. Imagine teaching coding without COMPUTERS! All you need is masking tape, a notebook & pen, a blindfold, and some weird quirky objects - and voilà! This exercises teaches ways to explain and experience coding, creates opportunities to collaborate and learn together, and helps students hear about female role models in technology, like Grace Hopper!
The teachers and students LOVED it! And they can't wait to share this with their entire school.
That's what is keeping us busy these past few months. And it's all due to your great support. Keep it coming!
