A story a picture can't keep quiet !

By Rayito Flores | Project Leader in Morelia

Dear Friends,

We would like to share a story that unfolded during one of our recent photo sessions with the kids.

A few days earlier, one of the girls in the workshop told us that a small bird had fallen into the patio. She cared for it for two days. She watched over it, checked on it constantly, and hoped it would recover.

By the time we met for the session, the little bird had died. She waited for the camera because she wanted that moment to be remembered.

It wasn’t an activity we planned, nor something we suggested. It was her own decision. She approached gently and began to build that story through her own eyes. Soon, other children joined her. They looked, took photos, and found a place among the plants to bury the bird.

In the end, they marked the spot with stones. It was a simple scene, yet deeply meaningful for us.

Because when a child receives a camera, they don’t just learn how to take pictures. They discover a way to say:"I saw this. It mattered to me. I want to tell this story".

Thank you for being with us and for making it possible for girls and boys to have spaces where they can look, create, and share their own stories.
